Run on -80ºC freezers

At the moment there is a run on-80ºC freezers worldwide. "We receiving orders from most of the European countries and even an application for the Netherlands Antilles", says commercial director Michel Keijzer of Scala Scientific in Ede. 

"This freezer can go down to -86ºC degrees and is currently frequently ordered", Keijzer shows. He says that you lose cold air when you open it, so you have a margin of a few degrees, since Pfizer's corona vaccines must be stored at -70 degrees.

He notices that surrounding countries are faster than our local market. "We are only now receiving orders for laboratory freezers in the Netherlands. They have been working on it for some time abroad. There are also nursing homes that order a freezers of this type at Scala Scientific, something we have never seen before."
